Today in class, we did a rhyming write around the room activity. This was a great activity to practice rhyming recognition, the skill of looking at something and copying it down on their own paper, and working with a partner. I was so proud of how well all my kinders worked with their partners in completing the assigned task! To do this activity, they walked around the room to find pieces of paper that had a pair of words written on them. They needed to find that number and copy down the pair of words in those boxes on their own papers. Next, they had to decide if the pair of words rhymed or did not rhyme. If it did, they colored the pom pom blue next to the words if it didn't, they colored it red. They did great working with their partner to find all of the hidden words and talking with one another to decide if it rhymed or not. Great job, kinders!!!! For the last part of our day, we played a math number activity and did a couple pages in our kindergarten book we are working on. My kinders are having so much fun filling out their kindergarten books with all of their favorite memories or things we learned this year together! It is so hard to believe we only have 3 days left! I am enjoying every last one with them before they are all off to first grade!
