Today, we had a visit from the Irish Dance Company where we got to see all the Irish dancers perform. We recognized two special dancers on stage. Great job, Grace and Lila! It was such a fun assembly and the kids were wonderful during the assembly!

In class today, we did a directed draw leprechaun today! I taught the class how to draw the leprechaun following my step-by-step directions until our drawing was complete. They all did a great job watching and listening to my directions to ensure they were drawing the right shapes on their papers. Way to go, K-1 and K-3! When we finished drawing the leprechaun with pencil, we traced it with black crayons. Next, they colored specific things on their leprechaun specific colors. When we were done coloring, they got to use watercolor paints to paint the blue background. I was AMAZED with how wonderful ALL the leprechauns turned out! To finish the project they got to use their creativity to finish the prompt of: "At the end of the rainbow, I would find....." I loved reading all their responses and I was so proud of how well they sounded out the sentences they wanted to write! Way to go, kinder friends!

Leprechaun Fun!

In honor of St. Patrick's Day this weekend, we made the CUTEST little paper leprechauns. I was so incredibly proud of how well both classes did in listening and following my step-by-step directions to ensure that they followed all the right steps to complete the project. When we finished the leprechauns they were holding them up in the air waving them with the BIGGEST smiles because they were so proud of what they had just accomplished. This was a tough project to put together that had some challenging cutting along the way. They all did a fantastic job and their leprechauns were ADORABLE! Happy "early" St. Patrick's Day everyone!

What a fun Dr. Seuss Week!

Today was a very busy day in K-1 and K-3! We had an assembly where we had a youth adult theater come and perform "Beauty and The Beast." Both classes were excellent listeners and I was amazed how well they all sat and listened to the whole performance! They all really enjoyed it!

We had gym and music too which didn't leave much room for our last Dr. Seuss activity. I read my kinders The Cat In The Hat Comes Back!  by Dr. Seuss. They loved this story and then we did a Cat In The Hat directed draw. I taught them how to draw it following my step-by-step directions. They turned out AMAZING! WOW!!! We have such amazing artists in kindergarten! They were so excited when they finished drawing and coloring their Cat In The Hats! Here are some pictures of my kinder friends with their drawings:

The afternoon had fun making their Cat In The Hat drawings too!
