Plants and Animals Fun!
Over the past few weeks, we have begun our Plants and Animals Unit in Science and our HMH goes perfectly with it covering the same topics. Today, we read a informational text about Earthworms and we had so much fun learning some fun, interesting facts about them! Ask your child what they learned. After, we did two activities that helped them to show me what they learned and I am confident in saying that all my kindegarten friends are now earthworm experts. They LOVED making earthworm fact hats and doing a writing activity where they wrote one thing earthworms CAN, HAVE and ARE. I was so impressed with what they wrote for each category and the detailed drawings they drew to go along with it. Wow! Way to go, K-1!
Here are some pictures of their amazing writing:
In math, we are reviewing all the concepts we have learned this year in doing a math packet we have made to help them strenghten their knowledge of the important math skills. They have learned so much in math this year and I am so proud of them!

May Calendar Fun
With it being a new month, the class was so excited to switch seats for the month and make their May calendars. They had fun following my step-by-step directions to make their calendar with a flower pot and flower inside of it. I am so impressed with my kindergarten friends amazing fine motor skills and how well they my multiple step directions. Way to go, K-1!
In reading we are learning about biographies and what an author's purpose is. Did the author write the book we read in class to entertain the audience, persuade them or to inform them? With each book we finish reading together, we talk about what they think the author's purpose is and why they think that. They are doing a great job identifying the correct one and giving me wonderful ideas why. Yay, K-1! My kindergarten friends have grown so much as learners and I am so impressed with all they are learning! they are more than ready for first grade next year!
