Happy Birthday, George Washington!

With it being George Washington's birhtday yesterday, I took some time this afternoon in social studies to teach my kindergarten friends about why he is such an important president and they also learned some really good facts about him too. After, I did a directed draw lesson with the class to draw a picture of George Washington and they colored it with crayons. Last, they wrote one or two facts they learnd about George Washington and I was so impressed with all the hard work on their projects. They ALL did a FABULOUS job! Way to go, K-1!

The other parts of our day were filled with learning addition and reading and writing lessons! It was a fun-filled day! We also had an American Heart Association Assembly this afternoon and the class is SO excited to be a part of this wonderful fundraiser! I am looking forward to another great day with my kindergarten friends tomorrow!
